Week 1 (Aug 25 to Aug 29) - Welcome to PLTW! Students will learn about Engineering and Technology and how to use the class website. Students will navigate the CHAMPS expectations and CCT rules page and locate the class syllabus.
Week 2 (Sept 02 to Sept 05) - Students will learn about Engineering and careers in Engineering. Students will set up Engineering notebook. Students will learn how to work as a team and the concept behind teamwork. Students will receive passwords and log into PLTW LMS to set up their accounts. Students will present their Artifact on September 08 for a Major Grade. Week 3 (Sept 08 to Sept 12) - Students will learn about the Engineering Design Process and use a Decision Matrix to help with selecting a prototype to design furniture. The Furniture or Hobby Design is Due on September 22nd for a Daily Grade. Progress Report |
Week 4 (Sept 15 to Sept 19) - Students will learn about measurements. Students will measure, build and test their Skimmers on September 17th - 19th for a Major Grade using the Standard or Metric System.
Week 5 (Sept 22 to Sept 25) - Students will learn about sketching and dimensioning Week 6 (Sept 29 to Oct 03) - Students will learn how to use Inventor 2014 to design objects for production. Progress Report |
