Conference Period:  4th Period

Welcome to David Crockett Middle School Robotics & Engineering I.  This class covers Engineering in the areas of "motion, force, physics, structures, materials, travel and movement, environment, and others".  Students will also learn basic movement of Robotic equipment, programming and debugging and energy such as solar, wind and hydro.  In addition to academics, students learn teamwork, establish leadership, build confidence, independence, and become creative "solutionists".  Students will learn to innovate, invent, problem solve and become logical thinkers.

Supplies:  The Engineering Room will provide students with rulers, color pencils and markers, scissors, robotic equipment and other basic supplies such as paper clips, rubber bands, yarn, construction, etc... for engineering projects.  Students are responsible for the following:

Lab Fee - $15 each student.  This fee is meant to cover a small percentage of the cost of competitions, field trips, class shirt, etc...

Engineering 70 Page notebook

Tape (duct tape, packaging tape)

Other supplies as needed such as empty cereal boxes, paper towel/toilet paper rolls, empty coke bottles, cardboard boxes - usually NO COST materials


Field Trips, Competitions, and Guest Speakers:

Students will be involved with local Engineering firms, guest speakers, a field trip to Texas A&M University (Engineering School), and various competitions
