PLTW and Robotics & Engineering I Courses help support the STEM field of study and are heavily project based.  Students will problem solve, find logical solutions, invent, innovate, work as a team to solve real life issues and problems.  Robotics & Engineering is an introductory course which has elements in Engineering and the design process, Basic robotic programming using Lego Mindstorms EV3 and Robotic Arms, and alternative energies.  PLTW is a high school credited CTE course which topics include Design & Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Magic of Electrons and Science of Technologies.

DCMS was voted "Best MS Robotics" in the February 2015 issue of FortBend Lifestyles & Homes Magazine.  Way to go Mavericks!!!

Houston Chronicle 9/10/14 discusses how 7th grade PLTW students will get to take Gateway to Technology 3&4 in 8th grade which focuses on Medical Detectives (dissections and crime scene investigations), Flight and Space, Green Architecture, and Energy and the Environment for High School Credit.  Current 8th graders may have an opportunity to receive a STEM endorsement in their sophomore years in the areas of Biomedical Science, Engineering,  or Computer Science!

Fortbend lifestyles and homes Magazine features DCMS Robotic students attending the first and largest Engineering Expo and design competition in March 2014 at Texas A&M University.  David Crockett Middle School receive Top Honors by placing in 4 of the 5 events and receiving 1st place in Rocket Design!
